Reflection: Week 3 &4
The last 2 weeks have been very enjoyable in my perspective. I think there were a couple of reasons for this;
1) I have a bit of a better grip on this blogging-life we have going on. I was able to get Dr.V. to show me how to maneuver my way around the Blog-world, and that made some things a lot easier to get done, as well as to be able to see what you all have put up. It has made it a lot nicer and not as stressful. It doesn't seem so overwhelming anymore :) Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not an expert in ANY way!, but it isn't as scary....so thank you Dr.V. :)2) The second main reason is that we got the opportunity to watch "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical at watching it when we started it, I guess just due to the fact that I don't know a lot about global warming, and it has been a subject I have shyed away from up to this point. Which definitely puts me in the category of, "It's easier no to know." I am guilty of that. But I am very glad we did watch it. It was very influential on me, and my mind and thoughts toward the whole issue have changed 180. I thought he did a really good job of presenting the information, kind of dumbing it down for normal people to understand. I was hangin on everything he said, and followed what he was saying. It made me really think about the kind of situation we are currently in, and what our future couldbe if we dont conciously make a change. To be honest, it really scares me. Especially for the world my children are going to be living in.
Overall, I enjoyed the last 2 weeks in this class. To think about it, I have already learned a lot in this class in the first 4 weeks. This is a great base for the rest of the semester :)
Good post!
ReplyDeleteI learned a lot about blogging as well this week. I think Dr. V is been doing such a great teaching us about this blogging stuff. Never thoguth I would get it so well.
Globalwarming isn't something i think about often either, Al Gore did do really good jod making his documentary very understandable for a large audience. It's great to imagine how much more we're going to learn in this class after all I've learned the past four weeks.
I also feel that these last two weeks have gone much better than the first two. I also asked Dr. V. for help and it really helped me grasp blogging a little better. I feel like my blogging skills have really improved in these last four weeks, and it sounds like yours have as well, so CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I also liked watching "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. It really demonstrated how huge of an issue global warming is. I honestly didn't know the extent of its damage until I watched this documentary. So I am really glad that we watched this as a class.
ReplyDeleteI think I am finally getting the hang of this blogging world too...its kind of exciting! The film we watched was very influential. I too was skeptical at first because I have heard so many people say global warming not happening. Throughout the film I was on the edge of my seat wondering what else he was going to uncover. Great post...glad the class is going well for you!
ReplyDeleteYup, the blog life seems to be getting easier for me to. These posts aren't to bad but setting all of this up the first couple weeks was a bit confusing. I think An Inconvenient Truth impacted our whole class...at least for those who hadn't seen it yet. It really got me to think of ways to help out. Keep up the blog...I lie the pattern you've got going on with the colors to contrast. Nice job!
